Our friends at ‘Brain Injury is Big’ (B.I.G.), a registered charity, celebrated the two year anniversary of setting up their support group on the 23 June, at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability where they all met.
Anne, Judy, Lois, Lynne and Sue met there as each of them had a close relative at the hospital who was being treated following a traumatic brain injury. The five women found support in each other while living with the every day challenges of caring for someone with a devastating brain injury. They decided to set up their group so they could extend this support to others, and now run an online forum with over 200 registered users from all over the world.
You can read all the women’s stories, and find out about the support group here www.braininjuryisbig.org.uk

Sally Dunscombe, director of the Brain Injury Group, was delighted to attend the celebrations on Sunday along with 200 other people. We’re also really pleased to be running a series of fundraising activities this year for a new helpline service for the B.I.G. support group, so that they will be able to extend their reach to even more people affected by brain injury.
