Gem Archer, guitarist for the band Beady Eye which is fronted by former Oasis star Liam Gallagher, was hospitalised on 1 August with a severe head trauma after falling down steps at his home and fracturing his skull.

The band had to cancel their scheduled appearance at the V Festival over the weekend, along with all other live performances planned for the rest of August.

Beady Eye posted a statement to their website on August 18 thanking fans for their support and updating on Archer’s progress, saying that he was “doing well so far” and “expected to make a full recovery”.

The band is expecting to go ahead with their live tour as planned in November.
