Brain Injury Group Extends Its Information Days to Birmingham
Sometimes, the best place to start is simply with a conversation.
Brain Injury Group’s Information Days offer people affected by brain injury and their families the chance to meet our team in person, ask questions and explore the support that’s available after a brain injury.
These days are designed primarily for people receiving care or rehabilitation at the host facilities, as well as family members who may be visiting.
We’re now extending the geographical reach of our Information Days to Circle Rehabilitation Birmingham, so people being supported there—and family members—can access information and tailored, face-to-face guidance.
What are Brain Injury Group’s Information Days?
Brain injury can shake the foundations of your life in so many ways. It may trigger a sequence of questions about your employment, rehabilitation, protecting your wellbeing, possible compensation or simply what happens next.
Our Information Days are informal, on-site sessions for people affected by brain injury; relatives are also welcome to come along. These sessions offer a familiar, easy-going environment for you to talk through your circumstances, ask questions or discuss possible support avenues.
- Care & rehabilitation: Discover further possible treatment options if you are looking to build on your current care.
- Education & employment: Receive guidance on anything from returning to university or work to other options like self-employment or volunteering.
- Lived experience & clinical expertise: Benefit from speaking to people in our network who have close proximity to brain injury or clinical expertise in the subject.
- Legal advice & court of protection: Find bespoke advice from our legal partners who have specialists in brain injury cases.
- Welfare benefits support: Learn about any possible benefits you or a family member may be entitled to.
There’s no expectation for you to have anything figured out before you come along: simply having a conversation with someone who understands brain injury is a good place to start.
Information Days at Circle Rehabilitation Birmingham
Circle Rehabilitation Birmingham is the largest private rehabilitation hospital in the West Midlands. The specialist rehabilitation centre provides care for people recovering from a range of conditions and injuries.
Holding Information Days inside rehabilitation centres allows our team to meet people where they are already receiving care to offer any gaps in support.
Even if your support journey is already mapped out, it might be helpful to talk to someone outside of your day-to-day routine about any injury-related questions or concerns that may be on your mind.
Meet Georgina Davies, Rehabilitation & Partnerships Lead
Our Information Days are also about putting a friendly face to the guidance available. Georgina Davies, known as Georgie, is a Rehabilitation & Partnerships Lead at Brain Injury Group. Georgie is qualified as a Clinical Specialist in Physiotherapy with 17 years of experience in the NHS, having worked in a variety of areas including intensive care units, neurological, orthopaedic and paediatric services.
Through her role, Georgie helps people affected by brain injury understand the support available to them and provides a friendly point of contact at our Information Days.
Meeting someone in person can make a real difference, particularly when you’re navigating something as complex and life-altering as a brain injury.
