The National Institute for Health Research Brain Injury Healthcare Technology Co-operative (NIHR Brain Injury HTC) is based at Addenbrooke’s hospital, Cambridge, and is dedicated to patient and carer inspired innovation to review the care pathway of people admitted to hospital with a traumatic brain injury (TBI).
Following an initial survey and workshop with TBI patients to identify and prioritise unmet needs (Patient Inspired Innovation Acute Care: Brain Injury and Intensive Care), the research is being extended to the families and carers of people admitted with a TBI.
To take part, you can complete a short survey, either online or on paper, detailing your hospital experience whether good or bad. The link to the survey is here: https://addenbrookes.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/htc-family-carer-tbi. If you would prefer a paper version to complete, please contact involve@brainhtc.org or call 01223 336940.
There is also the opportunity to take part in a half-day Family and Carer Workshop on Thursday 22 September at Cambridge Central Library. The workshop takes place from 10am – 1pm, refreshments will be provided and travel expenses will be reimbursed.
The purpose of the research activity is to ensure that the right projects and new technologies are funded in order to meet any unmet needs along the care pathway.
If you would like to attend the workshop or receive more information, please contact the NHIR Brain Injury HTC office on 01233 336940 or email involve@brainhtc.org
