Nick was admitted to Hothfield Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in June 2025 following a brain haemorrhage that had caused weakness and reduced awareness on the left side of his body.
Prior to his injury, Nick led an active lifestyle, running his own business and competing in sports at a professional level. Despite his independence at home, his injury left him with significant physical challenges, including limited movement, reduced sensation, and difficulty walking.
As part of his rehabilitation, Nick used advanced technologiesāincluding the ArmMotus⢠M2 Pro to improve strength, movement, and functional use of his left arm, and Luna EMG to rebuild muscle activation and enhance motor control through biofeedbackāwhich together helped reduce muscle tightness, improve range of motion, and support the brainās reconnection with affected muscles.

The Value of a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Approach

What began as walking just a few metres with the support of two people slowly improved to being able to walk up to 50 metres under supervision. Alongside this, he progressed from relying on a leg brace to walking without it, as his balance and stability improved and his risk of falls reduced. Nick also regained greater control and function in his affected arm, supporting him in day-to-day activities and increasing his overall independence. Beyond the physical improvements, these changes had a wider impact. Nick reported feeling more confident, with improved wellbeing and a growing sense of independence in his daily life – all of which played an important role in his ongoing recovery.Long-Term Impact of Rehabilitation
